Red Dahlias at Swan Island Dahlias

FLOWERS & NURSERIES

Mt. Hood Territory is filled with colorful flower farms. Visit in the spring for the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival, summer for lavender and early fall for the Swan Island Dahlia Festival. Taste Oregon through its freshly picked blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. Discover the color and variety of heirloom vegetables and herbs at over 40 farms. Do it yourself at u-pick and u-cut farms. At the plant nurseries and garden centers, stock up on hanging baskets, annuals, native and wetland plants, wildflowers and a wide array of trees and shrubs.

Oregon farm and garden tours offer a little something for everyone and are great places to go with families. Go on a hayride, hop aboard the railroad that takes you through the farm. Meet farm animals including alpacas, llamas and miniature donkeys. Relax in The Territory’s gardens or bring your curiosity to the Hopkins Demonstration Forest.

Learn how Oregon farmers grow sustainably or what it was like to be a farmer in the pioneer days at Philip Foster Farm. Try your hand at cooking with a class at the Kitchen at Middleground Farms.
