When the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival comes to an end you might be thinking that means the end of your chance to see flowers in Mt. Hood Territory. But don't worry! There are still plenty of beautiful flowers blooming over the next few months.
The Rogerson Clematis Garden located at Luscher Farm is open to visitors year round who would like to stroll through the blooms. Clematis are known as the "Queen of the Vines" and take a variety of shapes, sizes and colors. There is always something blooming throughout the year. The clematis are displayed in a residential setting which allows visitors to see how well they will pair with other plants in their own gardens.

The dahlia festival is free and runs for two weekends at the end of August/beginning of September.
Once the lavender festivities are done, it's only a short wait to the annual Dahlia Festival put on by Swan Island Dahlias in Canby.
The folks at Swan Island Dahlias know their stuff. They have an endless selection of different dahlias to choose from, many of which were first invented by them. Can you invent a flower? Either way, they were the first to breed many of those flowers, and they are simply stunning. From small pom-pom types to flowers that are literally larger than my head, the variety is dizzying.
