Spend time on the water and learn everything you need to get started in the sport of stand up paddleboarding or SUP! You'll be introduced to the basic strokes and receive personalized instruction to improve your balance and comfort on the board. The class will cover important gear and safety concepts before practicing moving from a seated to standing position, remounting the board after falling (or jumping!) in the water, and basic paddle strokes. This is a great way to build a new skill set or improve upon what you already know about paddleboarding. Paddleboards, paddles and safety equipment provided. Sessions starting at 9:30am and 12pm

This will be about a 2-1/2 hour class and you will walk away with a stained glass window installed with hooks and small chain to hang. Instructors will provide you a large rustic barnwood window for you to design using many varieties of beautiful glass and sea glass pieces. Class will walk you through the process of designing, grouting and cleaning your work of art, ready to hang when you leave!

The famous children’s book character in the striped shirt and black-rimmed specs is visiting locally owned small businesses throughout the Milwaukie/Oak Grove area. Those who spot him can win prizes, gift certificates to local businesses and more! Find Waldo Local is a great summer vacation activity, and a wonderful way to check out local businesses!
Participants can pick up a “Find Waldo Local in Milwaukie!” passport at Spoke & Word Books. Then visit participating businesses from July 1st-27th and get your passport stamped or signed for each Waldo you spot!

Each performance will employ three singers and one pianist, who will perform standard opera arias and ensembles as well as songs from classic musicals. As the weather turns and the group is cut off from the mainland, the bloodbath begins and one by one they are brutally murdered in accordance with the lines of a sinister nursery rhyme. First presented at St James’ Theatre in London on November 17, 1943. The play opened on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre in New York City on June 27, 1944. It was a smash hit on both Broadway and in the West End.
