Events in Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory offer year-round festivals and activities for the whole family in the greater Portland area. Winter’s event calendar is full of snowboarding and skiing events at Timberline Lodge & Ski Area and Mt. Hood Skibowl, plus holiday happenings at Christmas tree farms. Spring events burst upon the scene with blooming flowers and baby farm animals galore. Summertime is filled with an abundance of outdoor activities, festivals, music events, and Farmers' Markets. Celebrate the fall bounty as local communities provide family fun harvest festivals, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and haunted trails. The Clackamas County Fairgrounds & Event Center offers a variety of events throughout the year, including the Clackamas County Fair and Rodeo. Waldo is popping up all over Milwaukie this July! The famous children’s book character in the striped shirt and black-rimmed specs is visiting locally owned small businesses throughout the Milwaukie/Oak Grove area. Those who spot him can win prizes, gift certificates to local businesses and more! Find Waldo Local is a great summer vacation activity, and a wonderful way to check out local businesses! Participants can pick up a “Find Waldo Local in Milwaukie!” passport at Spoke & Word Books. Then visit participating businesses from July 1st-27th and get your passport stamped or signed for each Waldo you spot! Bring your completed Where's Waldo Passport to the Meet Waldo Party on Saturday, July 27th, 2024! You'll meet Waldo, and all participants with a completed passport will receive a goody bag and an entry to win one of many Grand Prizes!

The opera is coming to Oregon City Library! Inspired by Portland’s food cart culture, Opera a la Cart is Portland Opera’s mobile performance venue. Each performance will employ three singers and one pianist, who will perform standard opera arias and ensembles as well as songs from classic musicals. Grab your blanket, pack a picnic, and join for an afternoon with the opera.

It was a smash hit on both Broadway and in the West End.

This class will introduce you to the fundamentals of kayaking in a comfortable setting and at a relaxed pace. You will learn about proper strokes and paddling technique, and get the chance to practice these new skills on a beautiful, local waterway. REI's expert guides will also teach the basics of water safety, trip planning, and how to have an enjoyable time on the water. This is a great way to build a new skill set or improve upon what you already know about kayaking. REI provides kayaks, paddles and all necessary safety equipment.
