Events in Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory offer year-round festivals and activities for the whole family in the greater Portland area. Winter’s event calendar is full of snowboarding and skiing events at Timberline Lodge & Ski Area and Mt. Hood Skibowl, plus holiday happenings at Christmas tree farms. Spring events burst upon the scene with blooming flowers and baby farm animals galore. Summertime is filled with an abundance of outdoor activities, festivals, music events, and Farmers' Markets. Celebrate the fall bounty as local communities provide family fun harvest festivals, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and haunted trails. The Clackamas County Fairgrounds & Event Center offers a variety of events throughout the year, including the Clackamas County Fair and Rodeo. Join the Milwaukie holiday tradition of decorating umbrellas and parading through downtown ending with the lighting of the tree. The parade will convene in the South Downtown Plaza. Everyone is welcome to decorate an umbrella and participate in the parade. No pre-registration is required. The parade then travels north for four blocks on Main St. ending at Historic City Hall where the tree will be lit around 5:15pm. Cookies, cocoa, cider, and flan will be handed out at Historic City Hall after the parade and prizes will be awarded for best decorated umbrellas.

Join Oregon Maple Project [onsite sugarers-in-residence] for an in depth look at the production of Bigleaf Maple syrup. Participants in OMP workshops will tour the Oregon Maple Project sugaring operation at Camp Colton, taste Bigleaf Maple syrup, assist with sap collection and other tasks on the maple farm, and gain hands-on experience with best practices in Bigleaf Maple sugaring. The entire workshop will be outdoors on trails, no matter the weather, so participants are asked to come prepared with proper footwear and clothing. Participants of all ages are welcome, though guests are asked to please leave pets at home. Accommodations can be made for visitors with disabilities.
