Biking In The Fall Is The Perfect Mix Of Color And Weather

Mt. Hood Territory offers some of the best mountain biking in the state, including the closest to Portland. Visit in early fall to ride the chairlift to the Mountain Bike Park at Skibowl or the new Timberline Bike Park (opening summer 2019) at historic Timberline Lodge. The Sandy Ridge Trail System provides year-round opportunities on singletrack and flow trails for any skill level. Catch a ride on public transportation via the Mt. Hood Express, complete with bike trailers, to each of these.

In the valley you can cycle any time, but the fall provides cooler weather and beautiful views of the fields and farms. Roll past quiet pastures and many of the wineries, all in the shadow of Mt. Hood.
