Clackamas County Offers Excellent Campground Options

Oregon is home to some incredible State Park and Forest Service campgrounds. But let's be honest, getting a reservation at those can sometimes be hard. If you're not online right when the reservations open in the morning then you might not get a spot. So what is someone to do? That's where Clackamas County campgrounds are the perfect location. While these campgrounds do still fill up, they aren't full months in advance. This allows you to still be able to get out and enjoy the Mt. Hood Territory. Travel Tip: For even more campsite options and less crowds, try to go camping midweek.

Here are three Clackamas County campgrounds we recommend trying this summer camping season. Oh, and consider this your reminder to make those camping reservations now. We'll see you out there!

Barton Park | Boring

Barton Park is a recreation paradise located right on the Clackamas River. This features 112 campsites, hiking, multiple day use and event amenities, and a variety of river recreation opportunities.

Feyrer Park | Molalla

Located three miles southeast of the community of Molalla, Feyrer Park is a relaxing riverside destination and a base camp for exploring the stunning Molalla River Corridor. The campground is open May 1 through September 30 and offers 20 campsites with water and electric hook-ups.

Metzler Park | Estacada

Metzler Park is located approximately five miles south of Estacada along beautiful Clear Creek. Although it is a short drive from several communities in Clackamas County, this park feels wonderfully isolated, surrounded by hills covered with towering Douglas-fir and western red cedar trees. The campground is open May 1 through September 30 and offers 75 campsites, 60 with water and electric hook-ups. The park features picnic shelters, a playground, hiking and a brand new 18-hole disc golf course.
