MOLALLA

Molalla, Oregon, is just as much fun to visit as it is to say. The small community is all about character and authenticity. Whether its craft beers and a delicious dinner at the Molalla River Brewing Company or a day shopping for local treasures at the Hoffman House Antique Mall, you'll be surrounded by small-town charm.

While there's plenty to see and do on Main Street, there's also a world of adventure just outside of town. Molalla sits at the edge of the Molalla River Recreation Corridor, a hidden gem of hiking, biking, horse trails and water play. Visit in August for the Celebrate Molalla event which highlights the local area small businesses including, a food court, beverages, free kids crafts, artists, locally crafted products and live music.

At the end of the day rest yourself at a charming inn or farm stay.

Molalla Train Park at Shady Dell offers free, fun-size action every Sunday from May through October. Run by Pacific Northwest Live Steamers volunteers, this nonprofit park features 4,500 feet of tracks where 7.5” gauge steam-powered trains chug along.

Molalla’s city parks offer even more ways to get outside and play. Leonard Long Park is home to the newest feature, a three-court pickleball complex, while Ivor Davies Park invites you to tee off on its nine-hole disc golf course

Take the plunge from 14,500 feet with a tandem jump at Skydive Oregon, operating from the largest private skydiving airport in the Pacific Northwest for over 35 years. Paint the town red at Splat Action Paintball Park. Rent gear or bring your own, then shoot around the towers and bunkers scattered across 47 wooded acres. Exercise your fingers playing walls of retro arcade games at High Score Arcade. Don’t leave without grabbing an ice cream or eye-popping amazing snacks and drinks from El Perico.

To hang out with over 55 adorable alpacas, book a tour at Alpacas at Marquam Hill Ranch, where you’ll also meet its guard llama. Swing by Lady-Lane Farm’s farmstand for dairy products made from Jersey cows, famously known as the "Queen of Quality.” And visit Out in the Garden Nursery, where you can pet goats, explore seasonal plants and picnic in the demonstration garden.

Start your day at Cowboy Coffee inside Prairie House Inn. Grab a toasted avocado bagel or a fresh berry breakfast bowl to enjoy in the beautifully restored 1900 farmhouse or gardens. For lunch, head to The Humble Pig Café, known for scratch-made pork dishes and its "Love Up" program, where guests can pre-purchase meals for those in need. Don’t miss family owned Las Delicias Bakery for delicious baked goods like Mexican bread, doughnuts and tamales, with special orders available for Quinceañeras and other events.
