Climbing/Mountaineering

Mt. Hood is one of the world's most popular climbing mountains, with adventurers aspiring to reach its 11,245 ft. peak. Basic instruction and guides are available for hire. Established in 1894, the Mazamas offer ski tours, expeditions, over 350 climbs and 900 hikes annually. All climbers must sign-out at Timberline Lodge before their climb, sign back in upon return and carry a locator unit. Rock climbing spots such as French's Dome and the Salmon River Slab are just two popular destinations for those who love multi-pitch and free climbing.
