January 1, 1923 saw the opening of the Arch Bridge. Designed by Conde McCullough. , it was the last link of the Pacific Highway, which stretched from Canada to Mexico. After years of use and weathering. The Arch Bridge was closed for a complete reconstruction, which managed to keep the original design in tact. Over 60,000 hours were needed to repair the bridge.
